The Daily Star continued their Big Brother publicity drive today by gracing their front page with another old rumour – that Kerry Katona and her mother Sue will be Housemates in the new series of Celebrity Big Brother.
The rumours that Kerry and Sue were being lined up to enter the Big Brother House first surfaced weeks ago and were met with a grumble of negativity from fans via Twitter and Big Brother fansites. Many cited the addition of Jade Goody and mother Jackiey Budden (along with boyfriend Jack Tweed) to Celebrity Big Brother in 2007 as a mistake Big Brother should have learned from.
It’s well known that Kerry and her mother’s relationship has a volatile history. Both Katonas have experienced drug addiction with Kerry blaming her ventures into substance abuse on her mother.
Since winning I’m A Celebrity in 2004 Kerry’s personal and professional lives have taken a very public downward spiral. Now clean of drugs for over a year and suffering from massive debts after being declared bankrupt in 2008, Kerry will more than likely be keen to take part in Big Brother, having also recently appeared as a contestant on Dancing On Ice.
Channel 5 are yet to make any comment to either confirm or deny the involvement of any of the names linked to the show so far but there’s not long to wait until the identities of the fresh batch of Celebrity Housemates is revealed to the nation on the live launch show with Brian Dowling.
Yesterday, Channel 5 confirmed that Big Brother will launch on August 18th at 9pm.
