Emma Willis: “I couldn’t have taken the pressure of the main host job”

Emma Willis has revealed that ex-BB presenter Davina McCall “was Big Brother” for her and that she is quite happy to let Brian Dowling take the role of mainshow host and the pressure that will inevitably go with it.

Speaking to New! Magazine Emma, who is currently pregnant with her second child, joked: "There’s going to be a lot of criticism and in my biological state I wouldn’t have been able to take it. I would have been a crying mess!"

A favourite amongst fans to take over the role as mainshow presenter since her appointment as host of Big Brother’s Little Brother presenter last year, Emma will this year take the helm of Channel 5’s new spin off show Big Brother’s Bit On The Side. The news came as shock to many fans who claimed that the Big Brother presenting roles should have been given the opposite way around.

Speaking about Brian in his new role of BB host Emma said “He’s a competent presenter, he’s a lovely guy- which shows cause he has won BB twice – and he knows the show inside out”, adding, “I’m glad that he got the role and not me. Whoever follows Davina isn’t in for an easy ride.”

Despite the fact that she will be heavily pregnant towards the end of Big Brother 2011 Willis has vowed to make it through to the end of the show’s marathon run. “I’ll be there until the end. I’m not going anywhere – unless the baby comes early!” she said.

The full interview with Emma is in the 1st August issue of New! Magazine, available now for just 95p!
