UPDATED: Channel 5 Confirms Live Feed Axe

Speaking at yesterdays Big Brother press launch, Executive Producer Gavin Henderson confirmed live feed will not be returning.
UPDATE
Channel 5 have now confirmed Live Feed for the new series of Big Brother will not be returning. They will instead focus on social networks and mobile apps -

'Following speculation surrounding the live feed, we can confirm there will not be a 24 hour live feed from the house available online or on-air.
This year we have decided to focus on the nightly highlights show and on directly engaging with the show's viewers through social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and specially created iPhone, iPad and Android apps.
The aim is to reflect the habits of our audience today and we believe that prioritising social media is the way to get people involved in the show.'
The last time live feed was dropped was during Big Brother 10 causing up-roar amongst the majority of Big Brother fans. Gavin Henderson went on to reveal the feed would be replaced by video highlight clips available via mobile phone apps stating that it 'felt more appropriate' to allow people to vote and interact with the show using their mobile phones.
So, it looks like no more live feed for this years Big Brother! What do you think to this news? Tell us below!

  2. It's pointless to have BB without live feed.
    Absolutely useless.
I am now mourning the death of Big Brother.
The lack of live feed has killed it.
Now it will be as ridiculous as IACGMOOH.
I am very very very disappointed.
    (I don't have a mobile and I don't use FaceBook.)

  3. The whole concept of Big Brother is that of being watched 24/7. C5 version is not Big Brother and should not be broadcast under that name. Who wants 3 minute clips? Not me! I also do not have a mobile capable of apps

  4. no live feed so you can manipulate what we see.It will be a farce and you will just show us what suits you.Though channel 5 was going to be braver than that.Very disappointed.

  5. Disappointed at this decision when you think of the amount of money 5 have invested in BB and they have alot riding on their first series. They could have took the Casino programme off for a few weeks to accomodate a live feed from mid-night

  6. I said at the time when Channel 5 bought Big Brother that they will have to make sure it has all the "bells and whistles" otherwise people won't bother with it, after the initial "oh yes, live feed will be there,it's gonna be bigger and better" from Channel 5 we are now reduced to this.
They lied, I bet channel 4 are laughing their socks off right now.

  15. Gutted C5 have axed the Live Feed and very disappointed not only in the channel but also Endemol for allowing the hardcore BB fans to be disregarded in favour of wooing "casual viewers". It doesn't make sense when they could easily please both parties. Social networking is an easy option, this should have been used to enhance the Live Feed for fans. I like that - I'm gonna post it on the BB FB! :)
